During the inspection, we verify that the object equipment meets the design, construction, installation and maintenance requirements necessary to ensure its safety. We also review the technical documentation of the equipment, in order to ensure that the health and safety requirements established in the standard are met.

Once the inspection is complete, we issue a report detailing the conclusions and, if necessary, those provisions that the equipment does not comply with.

INMÍNER ING. is specialized in the design and construction of chemical product warehouses (APQ). We work for petrochemical plants, solar thermal plants, mining operations, treatment plants, wastewater stations, etc.

In Spain, the regulations that regulate chemical product warehouses (APQ) are Royal Decree 656/2017, of June 23, which approves the Regulation for the Storage of Chemical Products and their Complementary Technical Instructions MIE APQ 0 to 10 This regulation establishes the safety measures that must be applied for the storage of chemical products, in order to prevent accidents and minimize risks to people, the environment and material assets.

The regulation establishes the conditions for the design, construction, maintenance and operation of chemical product warehouses, as well as the requirements for safety management in the storage of these products. The obligations and responsibilities of the owners of the warehouses, as well as the workers and the competent bodies in matters of industrial safety, were also established.

In addition, there are other regulations related to the storage of chemical products, such as the Occupational Risk Prevention Law, the Law on Waste and Contaminated Soils, the Water Law and the specific regulations for each industrial sector that uses chemical products.

Self-protection plans

The industrial safety department of INMÍNER ING., INMÍNER SAFETY, reaches all levels of protection for any type of industry. At the initial level of security, it is always necessary to start with self-protection plans.

Self-protection plans are essential to guarantee the safety and protection of people and property in the event of an emergency or accident.

Each type of industry has its own characteristics and specific risks, so it is important to develop self-protection plans adapted to each case. These plans must contemplate the procedures and security measures necessary to prevent, reduce and respond to possible risks and emergencies that may occur in the corresponding industrial activity.

Among the aspects that must be considered when developing a self-protection plan for an industry are:

  • Identification of possible risks and emergencies that may occur in industrial activity.

  • Description of the procedures and measures for risk prevention and mitigation.

  • Definition of actions and action protocols in case of emergency.

  • Establishment of communication and coordination systems between the different services and organizations involved in self-protection.

  • Training and information to staff and workers on self-protection procedures and measures.

It is important that self-protection plans are updated periodically, to ensure that they remain up to date and adapt to possible changes in industrial activity or applicable regulations.
